Engineered stone alternative: Benchtop solutions for your new home

The nationwide ban on the use, supply and manufacturing of engineered stone benchtops, panels and slabs came into effect on 1 July. Engineered stone had been widely used in home kitchens up until this point, and these new regulations have meant some changes to your usual kitchen benchtops when building a new home.

From July 1 2024, Nostra Homes moved to Caesarstone's new premium Mineral Surface in place of the discontinued engineered stone.
