Nostra Homes signs partnership deal with Melbourne City Football Club

Nostra Homes, one of Australia’s leading independent home builders, has signed a new multi-year partnership deal with Melbourne City Football Club.

The partnership is a natural fit, with both Nostra Homes and Melbourne City having an aligned vision of promoting inclusivity and diversity in male-dominated industries – construction and sport.

Surprisingly, women only account for 2 per cent of workers in the Australian construction industry and although there are more women active in the Victorian labour market now in comparison to previous years, the industry still remains an area that has proven to be highly resistant to change. 

By working with SheForce, the first female-led recruitment and labour-hire social enterprise in the construction industry, Nostra is hoping to spearhead this change and is proud to boast a workforce comprised of 36 per cent women.

According to Football Australia, women make up 22 per cent of Australia’s participation base, however, Football Australia’s Gender Equality Action Plan aims to see this grow to 50 per cent by 2027.

Nostra Homes Founder and Director Anthony Caruana said joining forces with Melbourne City will assist in elevating both brands’ efforts in empowering female representation across male-dominated industries.

As part of the deal, the Nostra logo will feature on the sleeve of City’s A-League Women’s home jersey for season 2023/24, and on the front of the playing shorts for all matches. It will also see the logo feature on the back of the A-League’s Men’s playing shorts.
